| Leaf, Raptors team up with Goodwill for
Winter Clothing Drive
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors announced DAY OF THE
WEEK that they will partner with Goodwill for the third annual Winter
Clothing Drive.
Donations of gently used winter coats, jackets, sweaters, winter
shoes, boots and gloves will be accepted at all Air Canada Centre
gates from fans attending the Leafs versus Montreal game on Saturday,
January 28 and the Raptors versus Sacramento game on Sunday, January
29.
“Winter can be a particularly difficult time for everyone,
especially for individuals and families that are in need or are
at their most vulnerable,” said Bev Deeth, director of Leafs
and Raptors Community Development. “We’re pleased to
partner with Goodwill once again to support a great cause and give
back to the community. Since our partnership with Goodwill began,
our fans have made an exceptional effort in supporting this initiative
and there’s no doubt our fans will come through again with
their support this year.”
Raptors player Jalen Rose will tip off this season’s Winter
Clothing Drive with a donation of 100 winter coats.
“It is terrific for us to receive this level of support from
the Leafs and Raptors Community departments,” said Dr. Ken
Connelly, President & CEO of Goodwill Toronto. “When people
donate or shop at Goodwill more people in the community work. And
when more people work, our communities work better.”
The Clothing Drive Month is a joint initiative of the Leafs and
Raptors Community development departments. Leafs and Raptors community
relations provide community outreach programs that make a difference
for youth and various charitable organizations.
