FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
IKEA and Goodwill Partner in Donation and
Discount Event
Donate a gently used sofa to Goodwill at IKEA and save!
November 16, 2004 – Toronto – Goodwill is pleased to
announce a special event in partnership with IKEA stores in the
Greater Toronto Area. On Saturday, November 20, IKEA Etobicoke (The
Queensway & Kipling), IKEA North York (Leslie & 401) and
IKEA Vaughan (Highway 400 & 7) customers who donate a gently
used sofa to Goodwill at IKEA stores can receive a $100 IKEA coupon
to be used towards a new regular priced sofa. Goodwill volunteers
and IKEA employees will accept donations at the three GTA locations
between 9 AM through 12 Noon.
Donations are the lifeblood of Goodwill throughout the year. All
donations received through the IKEA sofa event will be sold through
Goodwill’s retail stores. Revenues from the sales will benefit
people who face barriers to employment through building
skills and providing the opportunity to access work.
“This is a great opportunity for our community to recycle
their gently used sofas while receiving an incredible offer from
IKEA stores in the GTA,” said Mitzie Hunter, Vice President
of Marketing for Goodwill. “We’re pleased to partner
with IKEA and share with them a strong belief in environmental responsibility
while giving someone a chance of a better future through the power
of work.”
