Back To School Headquarter at Goodwill
Toronto, ON – Denim, corduroy and plaid are just a few of
the items for sale as Goodwill stores across Southern Ontario gear
up for the start of school. As part of our Back to School sale,
customers who buy any 2 denim, jeans or corduroy items will receive
the 3rd item of equal or lesser value FREE!
While families traditionally headed to the mall for the latest
in back to school fashions, more often they are heading to their
neighborhood Goodwill. Pants, skirts and tops starting at $3.00
and the popularity of second hand shopping and vintage clothing
has now made Goodwill a first stop for many individuals.
Revenue generated from Goodwill stores fund education and career
services for people with disabilities and disadvantages such as
welfare dependency, homelessness, and lack of education and work
experience.
About Goodwill
Goodwill is a Canadian registered charity that has operated since
1935, raising funds primarily through the sale of donated goods.
This allows the organization to develop and offer programs and services
that meet the needs of people facing barriers to employment.
Today, Goodwill Toronto manages 35 retail operations across Ontario
including retail stores in Ottawa, York Region, Peel Region, Barrie,
Orillia and Kingston. Each year, Goodwill receives an estimated
20 million pounds of reusable clothing and housewares from the communities
in which it operates. Goodwill currently employs about 700 people
and works with more than 300 active volunteers annually. Goodwill’s
website has more details, www.goodwill.on.ca.
