IN RESPONSE TO REQUEST FROM COMMUNITY, GOODWILL HOSTS ONE-DAY SHOPPING EVENT FOR CUSTOMERS IN ETOBICOKE COMMUNITY
Interview and Photo Opportunities
WHAT:
As Goodwill forges ahead to rebuild its presence in Etobicoke after a devastating fire that destroyed its store late October, Goodwill, in partnership with Toronto Community Housing (TCHC), is hosting a one-day shopping event. Join Goodwill, TCHC and local MPPs at 9:45 a.m. for opening remarks to kick-start the event.
In response to requests from community members, Goodwill opens its doors for a one-day shopping event to provide access to affordable goods during the holiday season for the community. All revenue raised through the sale of donated merchandise goes towards Goodwill's mission of creating work opportunities for people facing barriers to employment in Etobicoke.

About Goodwill Since 1935, Goodwill’s mission is to create work opportunities and skills development for people facing barriers to employment, including persons with disabilities, youth at risk, the chronically unemployed, Aboriginal people and newcomers to Canada. Our Community Stores sell a wide variety of donated goods, the revenues from which create jobs at Goodwill, giving people much-needed paid work experience.
