Mitzie Hunter assumes role of Chief Administrative Officer for
Toronto Community Housing

   
         

Toronto, ON - September 14, 2009 – Toronto Community Housing is pleased to
announce that Mitzie Hunter will assume the role of Chief Administrative Officer
effective October 19, 2009.

Ms. Hunter leaves Goodwill Industries of Toronto as the Vice-President, External
Relations and Corporate Secretary after seven years of exemplary service and leadership
effective October 2, 2009. She was the company spokesperson, responsible for leading all
aspects of Goodwill’s corporate brand strategy, marketing, government relations,
communications, issues management and corporate affairs.

success in the future,” says Dr. Ken Connelly, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries
of Toronto. “While we regret losing Mitzie’s talent, we rejoice in the great opportunity
that this move presents for Mitzie, Toronto Community Housing and the City. Mitzie
will continue to provide service to citizens who are most vulnerable. On behalf of
everyone at Goodwill, we wish her all the best and success in her new position at Toronto
Community Housing.”

In the newly created position of Chief Administrative Officer at Toronto Community
Housing, Ms. Hunter will lead the organization’s strategic and business support
functions. This will include Media Relations, Corporate Communications, Strategic
Planning and Research. Gradually, over the next year, she will also assume responsibility
for Human Resources and Information Technology.

Chief Executive Officer. “She brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications
and planning along with her commitment to building strong communities which aligns
well with our mandate.”

Ms. Hunter is a seasoned executive with an extensive background in government
relations, corporate branding and marketing, issues management, community and
economic development, information technology, and partnerships.

Ms. Hunter is committed to building a vibrant city and is actively involved in her
community. She has held governance positions in numerous non-profit organizations
including co-chairing the Toronto City Summit Alliance (TCSA), Emerging Leaders
Network and participating in TCSA DiverseCity initiatives. She has also served on the
Board of Directors of Housing Services Inc., a subsidiary of Toronto Community
Housing, TVOntario, United Way, and the Yonge Street Mission. Ms. Hunter is a
graduate of the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management.
